Day digest
A short overview of the day and one line per piece of work, written by the local model. It stays, and Update only reads what changed.
The digest folds a day of meetings, agent sessions and commits into a short overview of the day, kept in the Timeline's summary card, and one line per work item — a phrase of about ten words each. It is written by the local model from what the Timeline already shows, so it never adds facts that are not on the timeline.
How to use it
- Open Timeline and pick the day.
- Choose Summarise this day.
- Read the overview in the card above the day's entries, and the phrase on each entry; the entries are the evidence.
- When the day moves on, the card says so — for example Written 14:20 · 3 new or changed entries since — and Update sends only the new or changed entries, with the earlier overview, to the model. Unchanged entries keep their phrase, so an update is much faster on a slower Mac.
The digest is stored with the day, so it does not have to be written again when you come back to it.

What leaves your Mac
Nothing on the default setup: the digest is written by the model on 127.0.0.1. If Allow Ollama cloud
models is on and a cloud model is selected for summaries, the digest text follows the same cloud rule as
a summary and goes to ollama.com. See Local models.
When it is off or fails
- No local model yet: the day shows "No summary written for this day yet" and the Summarise this day action, which becomes usable once a model is set up.
- Nothing on the day: there is nothing to fold; the action has no content to work from.
- An answer the app cannot read: the earlier summary stays as it was.
- Only part of the day changed: the overview stays, and only the changed entries lose their phrase until you choose Update.
- The model does not fit in memory: the same memory check as a summary applies; it waits and tells you which apps hold the memory (see Local models).
